Iman atau Keraguan? Reinterpretasi Teologis Narasi Barak dalam Hakim-hakim 4

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menelaah kembali narasi Barak dalam Hakim-hakim 4 yang kerap dipahami sebagai figur yang gagal dalam iman. Pembacaan tersebut menimbulkan ketegangan dengan kesaksian kanonik dalam Ibrani 11:32 yang justru menempatkan Barak sebagai tokoh iman. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini berupaya merekonstruksi pemahaman mengenai iman Barak melalui pendekatan eksegesis biblika dengan metode kualitatif. Analisis dilakukan melalui kajian konteks historis dan sosial-budaya kitab Hakim-hakim, pendekatan naratif terhadap struktur teks, pendekatan intertekstual dengan membandingkan respons Barak dan Musa, serta analisis leksikal terhadap istilah kunci dalam bahasa Ibrani. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa respons Barak tidak mencerminkan kegagalan iman, melainkan ekspresi ketergantungan terhadap kehadiran Allah. Analisis konteks historis dan sosial-budaya menunjukkan bahwa tindakan Allah merupakan pusat karya penyelamatan dalam kitab Hakim-hakim. Analisis naratif menegaskan posisi Allah sebagai aktor utama dalam kemenangan Israel. Analisis intertekstual menunjukkan kesamaan pola respons Barak dan Musa terhadap kebutuhan akan penyertaan Allah. Sementara itu, analisis leksikal terhadap tiparteka dan makar menunjukkan bahwa "kehormatan" dan "menyerahkan" tidak memberikan dasar yang memadai untuk mengaitkan respons Barak dengan keraguan atau kegagalan iman. Dengan demikian, iman dalam narasi ini tidak dipahami sebagai kemandirian heroik, melainkan sebagai relasi ketergantungan kepada Allah. Penelitian ini berkontribusi dalam memberikan pembacaan ulang terhadap tokoh Barak serta memperluas pemahaman iman dalam Perjanjian Lama sebagai ketergantungan yang teosentris.
