This study aims to explore John 13:1–30 as a theological foundation for servant leadership, which has often been neglected in Christian leadership studies. Employing a narrative-critical approach, the research analyzes the actantial structure, characterization, conflicts, and the symbolism of the foot-washing ritual to uncover the dynamics between power and service. The findings reveal three key principles of servant leadership from the perspective of the Gospel of John: (1) leadership as the willingness to humble oneself (vv. 14–15), (2) authority oriented toward restoration (vv. 10–11), and (3) service as a means of sanctifying the community (v. 8). These results expand the servant leadership paradigm by offering a theological framework relevant to contemporary organizational challenges, while also providing practical contributions for the development of Christian leadership models.
