Abstract

This article examines the relationship between faith and works in James 2:14–26, with an exegetical focus on verse 22, and considers its relevance to the Christian formation of Generation Alpha. This qualitative study employs literary and grammatical analysis alongside a focused literature review. James’s argument moves from a profession of faith that fails to help others (2:14–17) to Abraham’s actions as an example (2:21–24). In verse 22, synergei describes faith working together with Abraham’s works, while eteleiothe and ek ton ergon indicate that faith reaches its full expression through those actions. This relationship informs three interconnected principles: faith functions as the acting subject, works express faith, and their alignment guides practices of care and integrity. The article then proposes age-appropriate applications within families, schools, churches, and digital spaces. These proposals constitute theological and educational implications. The article contributes a framework for integrating faith commitments into everyday conduct, directing actions toward the well-being of individuals, others, and wider society.
