Inkulturasi Nilai Keselamatan: Analisis Biblika Amsal 4:7 dan Yohanes 12:3b dalam Konteks Ritual Karapao Masyarakat Mimika Wee, Papua

Salvation is a fundamental theological concept and the ultimate goal of the life of faith. The meaning of this concept is not limited to sacred texts but is also manifested in various cultural practices. This study aims to analyze the meaning of salvation based on Proverbs 4:7, which emphasizes wisdom, and John 12:3b, which reflects sacrifice, while also examining the relevance of these two concepts in the Karapao ritual of the Mimika Wee community in Papua. Employing a qualitative research method with a contextual-theological approach and descriptive analysis, this study explores the intersection between biblical teaching and local wisdom. The analysis reveals that Proverbs 4:7 highlights wisdom as an essential path to an orderly and secure life, whereas John 12:3b represents salvation through acts of love and selfless sacrifice. These two values wisdom and sacrifice find strong conceptual parallels in the Karapao ritual, which is understood by the Mimika Wee people as a form of communal sacrifice aimed at achieving harmony, well-being, and the restoration of social and spiritual relationships. The study concludes that the Karapao ritual constitutes a form of theological inculturation in which the concept of salvation is not only understood eschatologically but also experienced practically through indigenous wisdom and sacrificial acts for the common good.
